November 15th, 2010

Welcome to our Sustainable VET practitioners Community of Practice Blog! I hope that you’ll enjoy coming here for a few moments every week during the assessment period, to see what’s happening and to add your own news and views.

I invite you to share success stories, resources, issues and together create a dialogue about the your process of injecting sustainable principles into the units.

TAESUS501A – the task at hand

November 15th, 2010

We’ll be keen to know how you are going with this.

  • What units are you looking at in terms of customising?
  • What training products are you thinking to create or adapt?
  • What’s your time frame for doing the assessment tasks?
  • From your own reading and thinking, what do YOU think are the really important skills and knowledge that should be in the units?

And I wonder if anyone has had time to review the Retail Package drafts at www.serviceskills.com.au

Feedback on Workshop,Materials & Process

November 15th, 2010

Thank you for the very encouraging feedback you gave on the PD Day. If on reflection you have other comments to make on either the Workshop, the materials, or the overall process please share it with us!

We probably don’t need feedback on typos etc – these will be uncovered via further editing and proofing. We know they’re there!

I’m particularly interesetd in your thoughts on…

  • the challenge of demosntrating competence where the workplace may not support good practice
  • learning & assessment in an emergent field, where the knowledge base is continually expanding
  • the challenge for VET practitioners of becoming sustinability leaders and drivers of  industry change
  • coping with the mountain of information out there
  • assessign sustainability – where what we’re assessing is not enshrined in the Elements & PC’s.
